I had a life before I was tailored by OffCut into this beautiful garment. A life on another continent, serving as a bed cover and later as a tablecloth. And if you want to know where I was originally from — I was made in India, yet another continent.
What a life. I traveled more than the average human does. When I no longer fit into the life of my previous owner, I was put into a bale with many other discarded textiles and sent from Europe to Kenya.
There I was admired for my beauty, my superior material, and my embroidery. But what really changed my life was Offcut.
I was seen in a new light. My beautiful bedcover/tablecloth was recreated. OffCut transformed me into this breathtaking ensemble — a true one‑off.
Nowhere in this world will you find a similar piece.
Despite some washing, my material proved strong and is now free of the chemicals that treated me at the beginning. I now have a whole different life ahead of me. I dream of parties, of travel, of laughter, admiration, and a long life — thanks to OffCut.
