This hoodie is made from surplus fleece sourced from a local Kenyan market known as Maziwa — a place where excess fabrics from Export Processing Zones find their way after large production runs.

To meet high-volume orders for the US and Europe, factories are required to purchase more fabric than they ultimately use. What remains is often left without a destination, despite being high quality and perfectly wearable.

At Offcut, we step in at this point. We rescue these premium fleece fabrics and rework them into cozy hoodies designed for everyday wear. Soft, warm, and thoughtfully made, each piece gives overlooked materials a second life.

Upcycled

The fleece used in our hoodies comes from surplus stock originally intended for export production. By sourcing from markets like Maziwa and working with what already exists, we help reduce waste and extend the life of quality materials that would otherwise go unused.

Because these fabrics are sourced as surplus, quantities are limited. Each hoodie is made in small batches, and subtle variations may occur depending on the available material — making every piece part of a finite run.
